The Inchies!
Inchies and Plus-Size Inchies
Today I want to scrap -- in fact -- I want to scrap/play with something new. I need to work on my Deck of Me (yeah, I should be finished with it this week, but I think I only have about 10 cards done! LOL!), but I want to try inchies and/or plus-sized inchies (PSI).
Okay, for those of you who think I have lost my mind and you are thinking -- what are inchies and PSI -- they are little bitty works of art. Inches are 1 inch square and PSI are 1 1/2 inch squares.
I have seen these done several ways, one is to do a larger square say 3 x 3 and then cut it into the smaller squares and another way is to just start with the smaller sizes and go from there.
So, I am off to create! I'll be back later on today to post what I came up with!

Ready Set Go!
Okay, ready set go . . . just seems to explain this time of year. At times it feels like it is a race from one event to the next, with very little down time in between.
So, as you race around, remember to take time to enjoy the holidays and enjoy your families!

Christmas Crafts with the Kids
Okay, I am so much one of those people who doesn't want my kids being crafty because I hate the clean up that comes with it, but both of my kids love to create things. Give Alexis some paper and glue or paint or whatever else is available and she is so happy. Bryce prefers the "destruction" paper and scissors! LOL! Quite fun for them!
But, every year at Christmas, we always make a gingerbread house. I have a friend that makes them from scratch (would love to do that, but I am usually so short of time that I don't). But every year, we do get a gingerbread house kit; some years, we actually build the house with the gingerbread and I pray that it stays up long enough to get a couple of picts. But, some years, I buy the premade house where all you have to do is decorate. This year, I went with the premade house and it was still a blast watching them decorate and they had a great time as well.
If we have time this weekend, the kids and I are making some ornaments! More fun! Will have to post the pictures of that!

What to Say?
I have sat down a couple of times today to try to write something, but everything is just so jumbled around in my mind that I can't put the words together. So for now, I guess I can't say anything.

Popular?
Today was one of those days when I wish I could protect my children from the world and the people in it. I want to be able to keep them from getting hurt physically and emotionally. I want to be able to save them from the pain that I went through.
First grade should be a time of fun, a time of beginning to really get involved in the wonderful world of learning and playing; it should not be a time where little boys bully and little girls won't let you play with them because you aren't "popular."

I'm Back!!
Okay, well, maybe no one missed me, but I missed my blog! For some odd reason, I have not been able to access blogger from home in weeks (or it felt like weeks, will have to check the last post!)
So, now I am back! What has happened? A lot and not too much at the same time. The main things going on are school, homework for the kids, housework (not really, you can look at my house and tell that!), and then back on the same track all over again.
Still waiting on them to set up a date for Alexis' testing, have called every week to see about that. Still waiting on getting all the IRS mess straightened out. Still waiting to see if we are going to be able to go on vacation. Still waiting to see if we can get the insurance all worked out. MMM, see a pattern here!
Well, think I will go for now. Of course, I should have more to post since it has been a while, but it is amazing how small things become after you wait and think about them.

Where to Start?
Right now, I don't know where to start thinking about the last couple of days/weeks. School has been busy, hectic at times, but it is actually starting to settle down some.
Yesterday, I thought I was actually going to break down and cry at school. Of course, I seem to be crying a lot lately. One of my colleagues told me that someone else had stopped here and said "I know that Penny annoys you a lot, but . . ." Well, it really hurt my feelings. She told me that she told the other person that I didn't annoy here, but now it has me "thinking" as my dh would say. Yes, I am sure that I do annoy some people, no big deal, there are some people who annoy me. My thoughts are that I would like to know who I am annoying so much. Or is it me or is it someone else. I just need to get it out of my mind!
The twins finished up the first week of tests for first grade. Not exactly sure how they did on all of them; we will have to wait until signed papers get sent home next week. We also already have the test schedule for next week and we can go ahead and start working on it a little early if we need to. Next week will be their first spelling test.

Monsoon Season
The other day I used the phrase "when it rains, it pours" because of all of the craziness that has happened lately. Well, in church Sunday, I opened up the Sunday School lesson book and at the end of the lesson, there was that phrase. I was immediately drawn to it and it was about how when as a couple there are bad times that this is when we need to be there even more for each other. The couple had gone through so much that they said they felt like it was Monsoon Season and again, I thought, DH and I are there right now.
Of course, there will be a monsoon or two, but you know, no matter what, DH is there for me. He has been able to allay some of my fears, mostly because I won't let go of all of them! He has given me the support and encouragement to reach my dreams, even though, he might initially have reservations about them. So, if it is monsoon season, I am okay with that because I know who will be there with me, holding my umbrella!

Frustration
How do you deal with frustration? I am such a control freak that I hate it when something is out of my hands; I don't handle it very well. I am going through that right now and I am trying to deal with my frustration. Normally, I would probably eat through my emotions (yeah, one of those emotional eaters here) but I am not going to fall victim to that! I just wish I could fix this, but I can't. I have to rely on other people who have to rely on other people, and I really don't think those people at the top of the chain have any clue about what us at the bottom of the chain have to get done! Oh well! Maybe I will just go shopping! LOL!

Missing!
Okay, I am so missing my MOJO! I have a DT project due for the newsletter (well, actually two, if you count the calendar addition) and I cannot get it to work out right. I have had the idea, but it just isn't falling into place! Today, I spent about an hour, working on some journaling that I think I want to add to the page, but then I keep doubting myself.
So, if anyone has my MOJO or knows where it went, please let me know!!!

In One Short Minute
In one short minute lives can be changed; a new baby can be born; a child can be lost. Anything can happen in one short minute.
Sunday morning that one short minute happened and had such an impact on my life; two young men were killed in an automobile accident and one other is in serious condition.
Wow, so much to say and think, both of these were incredible kids. They had their whole lives in front of them and now. Preston would have been a senior in high school this year; we had already sat down and started planning his school year. We had talked about what he was going to do when he graduated. He was looking forward to a future, that now is gone. Charlie was in college now, but I still remember him sitting in class, cracking a joke as he always was. And then there is Hunter, quiet Hunter, who was such a hard worker, pray for him as he goes through this time, as his body heals and then later on when he realizes what has happened. Pray for his family and the families of Preston and Charlie. Pray for our school as we try to begin the school year, knowing that we have lost two members of our family.

C52 Layouts!
Okay, as promised here they are! These are Imaginesce Patterned papers and rubons. Alpha stickers are Rusty Pickle. I also used my OA Cricut cartridge. Of course, if you look at the C52 blog, you will realize that my double page layouts went way off base from the originals! Oh well, that is the fun of scrapping, isn't it?
Club 52 Layouts
Okay, worked on my Club 52 layouts from July; yes, I know it is August, but I was really busy the night of C52 to be able to do them then. I really like them it just amazes how far off from the originals I ended up with. When I have time, I will have to upload them so you can see!
Wondering what C52 is, well, check out the new C52 blog! Better yet, want to be a part of C52, head over to A Scrappin Friendsy and sign up! The kits are fab!!!

Saturday
Just a few more days until teachers' meetings at school start; of course, Alexis has cheer camp this week as well, so I will be there all week.
Picked up some picts that I had developed this week; I know film. I haven't used film in two years! Of course, these rolls were that old, so I was kind of worried that they might not be the best. But, I was happily surprised. All three rolls turned out great, and there was a pict on there from my birthday two years ago! It was so sweet, DH and the kids had baked me a cake. It was the worst cake that I have ever eaten, I mean it was horrible! It looks better than it tastes and it still looks pretty bad! LOL! I am going to have to do a layout about it; once I finish the layout, I will share it with everyone!

Coming Out of the Dark
Since earlier this week I was in the dark, I figured that I needed to come out of the dark. Worked on part of my 'darkness' problem yesterday and realized that it is my reaction to another person. Of course, what is so funny when I was on the phone with her yesterday, I realized that that she is a control-type personality. On the other hand, I am also a control-type personality, so when she does something and I don't know about it, it bothers me. Last night, I was ready to "chunk it all" and turn it over to her and still wonder if that might now be the best thing timewise, but I hate to give up something that I have invested so much time in already. Oh well, need to work on it Monday.

ScrapDragons Challenge
Okay, I had to do the challenge for the ScrapDragons! They are some wonderful people, so just had to have fun with them!
So, the premise is -- three items -- use something from each item to create your own layout. Great fun and great inspiration as well. Go check out their challenge blog -- the link is on the sidebar and see what you can come up with!

In the Dark
Seems like an appropriate title because it is really dark in my house right now, no lights are on and it is rainy and cloudy (and all the thunder and lightning that go along with that) and that is how I feel.
It's been one of those days; got up early after staying up a little too late! Then went with DH to the doctor's office, had a nice lunch at Keifers, haven't been there in years. Then on the way to pick up the kids, we had to detour because of a massive man hunt near his parents' house. Very scary thought when you see about six or seven highway patrol cars pulled over on the side of the road and them standing in the road blocking it, holding large shotguns!!
Back home after we finally got the kids and left the inlaws with instructions to keep everything locked. I finished reading the new Harry Potter, not sure how I feel about the ending though.

School
For the last year, I have really wanted to go back to school; I want to work on another Masters Degree, but I want to get this one in counseling. I love teaching, don't get me wrong, but part of me wants a break from it, another part of me doesn't. What a Catch-22. So, all of this is wonderful, right? The problem is trying/having to balance my daily work with something new and to balance our lives with something new and our budget with something expensive!
I have tried to talk to DH about it several times, but yet, he still isn't 100% behind my plans, so I guess they will have to wait a little longer.

What a Day!
Friday was one of those days where it seemed like nothing was going right and everything was going wrong. I won't bore you with all the details but it was definitely a day that I don't want to repeat. But, we survived and now it is Saturday!
Today is Scrap Saturday. I am going to lounge about and scrap and work on some challenges for ASF and for Scrappin Mojo. I will have to share my creations when I get back!

Basic Grey Gallery!
Okay, I am so excited!!! Just got an email from Basic Grey where they had picked up my Card from the Caardavarks Day 4 Challenge for their gallery!!! WOOHOO!!!!
Time?
I sure it is like this for everyone but where does the time go? Here it is the end of July, with school just around the corner, and I am so far behind with everything I needed to get done. Then it seems like things keep being piled on and on and on.
I went to school today to work on a few things, I did get a few things done, but once I started looking at a few things, I realized that somethings that should have been done in May weren't done, so now, I have to back track and cover some one else's mistakes! Just something else that I really don't feel like I have time for!

Monday, Monday
Mmm, love me some Mamas and the Papas! LOL!
Okay, today has been a normal day of summer -- which means -- go to school and do some work! It amazes me how people think that just because I am a teacher, I have all summer off. Of course, most probably do, I just fill in and do other work at the same time!
Today was productive, even after work, came home and did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the bathrooms, and mopped the floors. Yuck! I hate housework. I would so love to have a maid to come in and clean, I don't mind cooking, it is just the cleaning that I could do without!

Fabulous Friday!
I love Friday! Of course, it does mean that the first day of school will be here before I know it! Been working on some things already for it and actually need to go and work a couple of days next week. Going to C52 tonight, will take some things to work on, if I have time, planning to chat and help with some other projects while I am there though!

Around the World in 31 Days Blog Party
Almost time for the Blog Party at Queen Kat Designs. Go check out the challenges at the blog and at the Queen Kat Designs DT Blog as well.
Just Another Day
in Paradise? Well, not really, but it does feel like just another day. I have done housework today, worked on some school work, and need to do some crafty projects. Today is my last day of VBS also! YEAH!! I love it, but it is really exhausting. I am taking Friday off because we aren't having crafts for all of the groups (yeap, I am in charge of crafts!) and the only ones in there will be the 2s and 3s and my helper can handle. Why am I taking off? CLUB 52!!!! I so need a break and that is the perfect break!!

Caardvarks Card Challenge #1
Starting Over
Boy, have I said that phrase so many times before. I am starting over on a project, etc. Do I think it will stick, not necessarily, but I am trying.
The main focus of my starting over today is my blog. Yes, it has been over a year since I posted. WOW! Why you might ask? I am so out of it that sometimes I forget that I have a blog. duh! But, I am going to do better. Maybe! LOL! We will see.
