12/28 QKD Blog Hop

Wow! Time flies! It is hard to believe that today is the last QKD blog hop of 2010! This has been a year of ups and downs! But, now to the fun of the day -- the blog hop!!

This week's was a "free for all" -- no set challenge, no set anything because everyone is so busy with the holidays. So, you should have started with the fabulous Nina at the QKD blog, hopped along, made it to the Whimsical Ink Sorority blog, and now you are here!

And here's my project for this week:



I used the Penguin Friends Stamp Set mainly because my kids love penguins!! I pulled out some old chipboard and used it as the base of my stamp, after I cut him (or her) out. I also pulled out a larger size scrap that I had in my multicolor scrap envelope. I just cut the patterned paper at the same intervals and spaced it out -- quick and easy card that looks like you took a little more time with it!

QKD Blog Hop - December 14

Eleven more days until Christmas!!! Wowza! In celebration of the holiday spirit, the challenge was to use green, white, and black this week.

Well, I started looking at my scrap stash and found some black magic mesh (do you remember magic mesh!) and decided that it might be fun to use it on the card. I pulled out some old Cosmo Cricket patterned paper as well.

I used Bat Winged Lolita and selective colored part of her dress.

Dec 7 Blog Hop

Isn't he just adorable!! I used one of the penguins from the Penguin Friends Rubber Stamp Set. I don't know who was more excited about this set, me or my kids!!! My kids love penguins and they loved the images in this set. I used some sparkle/glitter cardstock from the December Royal kit! Love this kit!!! Make sure you get one when they hit the store!

Exciting News!!!

Well, I have been waiting and waiting to share some exciting news with everyone! I am now one of CT leaders at Polka Dot Plum!!! I love being a part of the Plum and have been with the site since they opened! I love working with everyone there and can't wait to start in on my new adventure!

Queen Kat Designs - New Release Wednesday!

Today is the day!!! That is right; it is the first Wednesday of the month so that means the new releases are hitting the shelves at Queen Kat Designs. And if the blog hop from yesterday shows you anything, you need to go shopping!!! There are over 30 new releases for today!!!

I used curling ribbon (from my kids' birthday party as the ribbon for my card); I thought the silver color was perfect for New Years!!!

Ok.... so... it's day 3 of our challenge chain in our 4th birhtday celebration.. We need some party favors for the friends who join us. there are so many possibilities for this it's all up to you what you make.. some ideas are:

candy boxes, bags or packets
mini baskets
covered journals with a pen
2011 calendars
wrapped and stamped candles
paper cake slices

anything is a go for this! make 1 item from the list using at least 1 stamped image and the color purple.

QKD Birthday Challenge #2

It's our birthday!!! We are excited to share this day with you. We have a special challenge for you today. We are celebrating our birthday KAT style! Today we have a yummy kitty 2 part challenge for you! that's 2 more chances to win the grand prize $50 gift certificate for rubber stamps!!

QKD Nov. 16 Royal Blog Hop

Oh my!!! did you look at that date! It is the middle of November and that means almost Thanksgiving, then Christmas, I am not ready!!!!

Okay, now, you didn't stop by for my mini melt down, you stopped by because you are hopping along on the QKD blog hop. You should have started at the QKD blog, hopped along, made it to Linda's blog, and finally mine.

The challenge this week was to use red and orange with neutrals. Here is the inspiration photo.



I love this color combo, but when I tried to pull it together on my card, it didn't come out like the inspiration picture. But, here is my card.



I used the May 2010 QKD Royal Kit. If you are not familiar with the Royal Kits, patterned paper and coordinating stamps rock!!! This kit featured Cosmo Cricket. I added the flowers and brad, and "stole" some manila construction paper from my kids and stamped on it! I definitely need to buy my own pack!!!

I used one of the new stamps - Santa Suit. It is so much fun to work with and would make great Christmas cards or "thank you" cards for those Christmas presents!!! I also added a cute chipboard peppermint candy button by Cutesy Glam Designs.

Terrific Tuesday!!! Yes, today is terrific because it is another day for a QKD blog hop! The theme for this week's hop was a color scheme from Betsy White --

So, back to the color scheme; I had the best of intentions, but I ended up with less of a cranberry color and more of a burgundy color.

Oct 12 - QKD Blog Hop

Wow, it is almost the middle of October! Where has the time gone? Okay, it is hard to believe but the good thing is that it is Tuesday and that means the QKD blog hop! This is week two of new releases, so we have some fabulous designs and a great sketch!

And here's my take on the sketch! I used papers from a QKD Royal Kit -- These kits are fabulous! In fact, I just got a new one Saturday and can't wait to cut into it!

The stamp I used is a new release - it is Snow Bunny. I love it!! It is so cute with him shredding some snow on his board!
