Frosty Santa!
Okay, I am absolutely in love with this kit by Julie Marie (you can find her and her designs at Sunshine Studio.) Of course, with a child who almost always wears pink, it is so hard to find a Christmas/Winter kit that has a sufficient amount of pink in it, but this one works perfectly! And look at the strip of jingle bells! I already have an idea for them!!!

Thinning Out
To thin out -- Verb
1. thin out - make sparse; "thin out the young plants"
cut down, reduce, trim back, trim down, cut, cut back, trim, bring down - cut down on; make a reduction in; "reduce your daily fat intake"; "The employer wants to cut back health benefits"
prune, snip, lop, cut back, clip, crop, trim, dress - cultivate, tend, and cut back the growth of; "dress the plants in the garden"
2.thin out - become sparser; "Towards the end of town, the houses thinned out" decrease, diminish, lessen, fall - decrease in size, extent, or range; "The amount of homework decreased towards the end of the semester"; "The cabin pressure fell dramatically"; "her weight fell to under a hundred pounds"; "his voice fell to a whisper"
3. thin out - lessen the strength or flavor of a solution or mixture; "cut bourbon"
dilute, thin, reduce, cut
weaken - lessen the strength of; "The fever weakened his body"
water down - make less strong or intense; "water down the mixture"
Based on WordNet 3.0, Farlex clipart collection. © 2003-2008 Princeton University, Farlex Inc.
I think almost everyone is having to "thin out" something or other these days; times are hard and, on a personal note, just found out something that makes it even worse for us, but that is okay. Maybe we just needed to take some time to thin out -- thin out our belongings, our focuses, our obligations and put them back where they need to be, where they should be.

12 Days of Christmas
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me . . .
Depending on if you know the traditional version or the "red-neck" version, your answer would be tremendously different! LOL
But, head over to the Queen Kat Designs blog for all the fabulous projects that Nikki and Vicki have put together for the 12 days of Christmas. They are on day 8 and the projects are rocking!!!
Look at this incredible tag by Nikki (she is definitely channeling Tim Holtz these days!) Not only do you get to drool over the tag, but when you go to the blog, she gives you directions on how to recreate it yourself! How is that for a great Christmas present!!

ISO
Seems like most of my life has been in search of things -- the holidays always seem to be when I am in search of the perfect gift, in search of a great bargain, in search of some answer that I just can figure out.
This year, I am making a conscious effort to search for the right things, in the right places. Maybe you are searching this season also, if so, I hope you find all that you are searching for and in the right places as well.

Here are the requirements needed to meet this challenge!
You have to use a stamped image, and you have to POP it up with pop dots!
You may either do a card or a layout!
You have until Thursday morning at 10 am PST to post the link to your creation.

"But I found out that everybody's different--the same kind of different as me. We're all just regular folks walkin down the road God's done set in front of us. The truth about it is, whether we is rich or poor or somethin in between, this earth ain't no final restin place. So in a way, we is all homeless--just workin our way toward home." -- Denver Moore Same Kind of Different as Me
Where to start? Has it been an easy week? No. Has it been a horrible week? No. Has it been the week that I would have liked? Not even close. But, it has been a week where I have been caught up in emotions that have ranged from anger to tears to laughter.
I get angry with the kids for something dumb that they have done, and then I stop to remember how blessed I am to have children. I worry about our financial situation, and then I stop to remember that we both are blessed with jobs. I try to control everything and try to make things work and then I remember that I am blessed with a Father who has the ultimate control and who will take of the things in His time, in the way that He wants them, not the way that I think they should be. All of these things are there to remind me that no matter what He has blessed me even though I feel so undeserving, even though I wonder why me.

Yesterday
Yesterday I scrapped! I know that doesn't seem like too much but lately I just haven't felt it. I made six cards. I played with the November QKD Royal Card Kit and the Many Thanks Sentiment Stamp set.
QKD also had the fabulous release party!!! If you missed the party, mmmm, you missed out on some fun, but the challenges are still posted on Paper Craft Planet so you still have some time to play.
Also, make sure you check out the new releases from yesterday. I absolutely love them and am going to be so broke!

Christmas Cards
This year, I have decided to purchase some very special cards for Christmas; most of you know how much I love to make cards, but these are some that outshine any that I could ever make:
This year’s Cure Starts Now holiday cards were designed by three wonderful kids: Andrew Smith from Michigan, Ellie Willaert from Minnesota, and Caleb Spady from Oklahoma. All three kids are battling brain cancer and have put their heart and soul into designing truly unique cards to represent The Cure Starts Now. Proceeds go towards funding brain cancer research at hospitals like St Jude’s Research Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The holiday card pack contains 18 cards including a sampling of each of the 6 custom designed cards. The inside reads, “May the spirit of the holidays bring you hope and happiness.” Each card tells a little bit about the child who drew the picture and about the need to fund pediatric brain cancer research. Shipping will begin on November 12th and is $2.00 per pack.
Here is the link where you can purchase a set of cards - Cure Starts Now
Here is also a link to Ellie's Caring Bridge page to see the journey that she has been through.

WCMD Challenge - Color and Technique
It's WCMD and QKD has teamed up with OBP to host some fun challenges! Check them out!!
Here's my challenge: Not too hard to do, but a few things that have to be done.
1. Use the colors black and blue on your card. Any shades of blue will work.
2. Use a stamped image on your card. Stamps do not have to be QKD stamps or OBP stamps. Just stamp!
3. And the final touch, use some embossing on your card. You can either use wet or dry embossing.
You can add more to your card if you would like, but these are the basics that I would like to see. Make sure you link back to the blog here with your card to be able to win!
Here's my sample card: I used some Basic Grey (don't you just love BG!) and a stamp from the September Queen Kat Designs Royal Kit Club. There are still a few kits available! Check them out!
