QKD Blog Hop - New Releases!

It's Monday so it is time for the QKD Monday blog hop, but it is also the FIRST Monday of the month so that means it is time for the NEW releases!!! I know!! I am so excited as well. Monday's Inspiration Blog Hop - Queen Kat Designs

It's Monday, so that means it is time again for the Queen Kat Designs Royal Monday blog hop. This week our challenge was an inspiration challenge; hopefully, you started at the beginning of our hop at the QKD blog and saw the inspiration photo there, if not, head back to the beginning so you do not miss a single project. You should have arrived here from Helene's blog.

Okay, here's my project. I loved how the walls were in the photo, so I used my bone folder to create lines in the cardstock and then I folded the cardstock on the lines and inked them. I thought it was easier to do this than to just draw lines spaced out across the paper. I used the Kitchen Goddess stamp set. I stamped the cute little kitty on three different papers, cut them, and then layered them to create the final project. A little matting and inking and I was finished.

Cookin Up Creations digi reveal

Okay, it just dawned on me that I had not posted my good news!!! I was asked by the wonderful Tammy to be the creative team coordinator at Cookin Up Creations. I am so stoked about this news!!! Monday QKD Blog Hop!

The challenge this week was to focus on colors; the colors were red, black, and white and to try to use some of those stamps in our stash. I pulled out one of the vintage images from QKD. While the one I used has been retired, there are some fabulous ones you can add to your stash!

We at Cookin' up Creations thought it would be a great idea to focus on Embellishments this month, as we have had lots of generous "embellishment" sponsors ....and we want to share with you. Along the Hop, you'll come across Challenges, Questions, and even Tutorials on different ways to use embellishments.

I have a challenge for you at this stop of the hop -- what I would like for you to do is combine two embellishments on your project -- sounds easy, and you can be as creative as you would like! Here I used a big brad (you know you have some of these in your stash as well) and acrylic stamps while also creating my own paper flower using coffee filters -- I just took several filters, and gradually cut them down one by one until they were all in varying sizes. Then I crinkled and distressed using some Tim Holtz distress inks.

Queen Kat Designs Monday Blog Hop

It's a new year but more especially a new month at QKD so that means -- new releases!!! We are changing up the way we do the release hops, so make sure you get the dl --- the first two weeks of the month will focus on the new releases, but all of the releases will be available on the first Wednesday of the month! And where can you get these fabulous new stamps -- at the store of course!

I used some fun Valentine paper that I had in my stash - yes, I am so getting ready for Valentine's day and this set - Kitchen Goddess -- is too cute!! Of course, my daughter was so excited that I added some "pink frosting" to the beater -- of course, I was excited that she realized what I was doing! LOL
