Monday QKD Blog Hop!

It's Monday again and time for the one, the only QKD blog hop!!! Woohoo!!! I love Mondays because of all of the wonderful creations that are revealed by the team. So, the basics, hopefully you have hopped here from Helene's blog, if not, head back to the beginning at the QKD blog.

The challenge this week was to focus on colors; the colors were red, black, and white and to try to use some of those stamps in our stash. I pulled out one of the vintage images from QKD. While the one I used has been retired, there are some fabulous ones you can add to your stash!

And while you are at the store, make sure you take advantage of the sale currently going on -- Tuesday Twenty. It's gonna be Tuesday for the rest of the month! Take 20% off everything! That makes all clearance items 75% off (Good through 01/31/10) use coupon code: TT20

Thanks for stopping by, and now it is time to head to Lara's blog to see her creation.

Welcome to the Cookin' Up Creations Blog Hop

Hello & welcome to the first ever Cookin' up Creations Winter Wonderland of Embellishments Blog Hop. You should have hopped here from Naureen's blog if not, head back to the Cookin' Up Creations Blog and start from the very beginning.

We at Cookin' up Creations thought it would be a great idea to focus on Embellishments this month, as we have had lots of generous "embellishment" sponsors ....and we want to share with you. Along the Hop, you'll come across Challenges, Questions, and even Tutorials on different ways to use embellishments.

If a blog requires you to complete a challenge, then please upload your completed challenge into the Embellishment Blog Hop Album before the end of the Blog Hop on January 22nd, 2010. All participating "blog hoppers" must be registered members in the gallery! The Cookin' up Creations Blog was your 1st stop and you are now at the 7th stop of the hop.

I have a challenge for you at this stop of the hop -- what I would like for you to do is combine two embellishments on your project -- sounds easy, and you can be as creative as you would like! Here I used a big brad (you know you have some of these in your stash as well) and acrylic stamps while also creating my own paper flower using coffee filters -- I just took several filters, and gradually cut them down one by one until they were all in varying sizes. Then I crinkled and distressed using some Tim Holtz distress inks.

Thanks for stopping by, make sure you leave your comment on this post, to be entered to win. After you have visited all the blogs and made a comment on each one, be sure to go back to the Cookin' up Creations Blog and post when you are finished. Thanks for hopping with us! Your next stop is Kimberly.

Queen Kat Designs Monday Blog Hop

It's a new year but more especially a new month at QKD so that means -- new releases!!! We are changing up the way we do the release hops, so make sure you get the dl --- the first two weeks of the month will focus on the new releases, but all of the releases will be available on the first Wednesday of the month! And where can you get these fabulous new stamps -- at the store of course!

So, now on to the hop! You should be hopping from Helenes' blog to mine. If you just stumbled upon my blog, thank so much, but make sure you go back and start from the QKD blog and see what you have missed! This week the Monday hop team had this sketch to work with.

And here is my take on the sketch:

I used some fun Valentine paper that I had in my stash - yes, I am so getting ready for Valentine's day and this set - Kitchen Goddess -- is too cute!! Of course, my daughter was so excited that I added some "pink frosting" to the beater -- of course, I was excited that she realized what I was doing! LOL

Now, it is time to head over to Wynneth's blog to see what wonderful mermaid she worked with this week.

Don't forget the sale going on right now at QKD
